The floating suction filter ensures that the cleanest water, from just below the surface, is always drawn from the tank. Its built-in filter protects the pump as well as toilet and washing machine inlet valves, against potential contaminants in the tank water. The filter mesh width is selected to ensure maintenance intervals are minimized. The brass backflow valve prevents the intake line from running dry. INTEWA‘s floating intake filter is available in ½ " design for the RAINMASTER Eco rainwater system and 1" for the RAINMASTER Favorit rainwater system. The intake filter is delivered inclusive of two brass grommets and stainless steel hose clamps so that you can easily install it with the INTEWA intake hoses, SDS and HORIZON.
Assembly, Installation and Maintenance
- The floating suction filter should be installed so that the deepest suction point (storage tank bottom) is at least 10 cm above the bottom of the tank, well away from the sedimentation area.
- When installing the suction hose and connecting the pump, take particular care to ensure that the connecting points are well sealed, as leakage through these points is a common problem. It has been frequently found that the cause of intake problems/loss of pressure at the pump/etc is due to poor sealing, or constricting of the intake line.
- The suction or pressure hose should be inserted through a DN100 protective conduit with more than a 1% gradient from the installation room towards the storage tank.
- When using the floating suction filter, the floating ball should be unrestricted and free to move up and down as the water level rises and falls.The intake filter should be checked twice a year for any collection of debris and if necessary cleaned. Maintenance intervals can be adapted depending on the debris detected.
