Today, the McDonald's chain of restaurants is well known world-wide as a fast food market leader. Currently, there are more than 1,361 branches throughout Germany employing some 60,000 employees. The newly opened branch in Dortmund, Kleyer Weg, has been fitted with an intelligent rainwater harvesting system as well as a rainwater attenuation system. Rainwater, collected off the roof, passes through a PURAIN DN150 filter before being stored in a 10m3 concrete tank. This is used to flush the toilets. To ensure adequate pressure supply a double pumping system was required and the optimum solution was RAINMASTER Favorit Duplex – two high quality rainwater pump and control units, offering variable speed control and synced together via Bluetooth. Installation of these units has meant a significant reduction in both power consumption and noise levels while offering best operating reliability and guaranteed capacity and significantly higher pump lifespan.

This Kindergarten was established in 2001 from a renovated building. The main rooms connect to a gymnasium, kitchen, staff room and office, with spacious corridors and various nooks and crannies. Plenty of light enters by means of windows at the front and a high ceiling emphasizes a feeling of spaciousness. The rainwater harvesting system in the toilets also contributes to the feel-good factor. The pumping and control functions are carried out by a RAINMASTER Favorit 20.

Here the firefighters are extremely satisfied with their new home – no longer is there a lack of space. Inside you can find a vehicle depot, training rooms, locker rooms as well as facilities for the youth and a children's fire department! The toilet facilities are supplied with rainwater by a RAINMASTER Favorit 40 unit.
